Morning all - Wednesday again eh?  Time to join everyone at Julias for our weekly snoop at desks around the world.

I finally went to the enterprise club again this week (though I am still no further forward in my quandry as to whether to set up a business or not) and as a result felt quite motivated when I got home to actually make some stuff.  I spent a few hours playing around with some christmas card designs, some of them using My Minds Eye papers (how lovely is their stuff?) among other stuff.  Still not sure I am anywhere near having enough for a pending christmas craft stall, so I've still not committed myself to that yet, though the clock is ticking - quite rapidly.  My desk this week is the dining room table as there's a bit more room on there rather than my computer desk.

And now for their close up's....

Oh and earlier in the week my workdesk was in the kitchen making Pudsey cakes (I really should update this blog more than once a week!).  I made 2 lots of these for school and then ended up having to make another 2 batches for us - nom nom :)

Thanks for everyone who popped by my desk last week, looking forward to visinting more of you again this week too.

Happy Wednesday everyone.  I've not made anything this week - eek.  So as the baby scrapbook I've been working on has now been delivered I thought I would take this opportunity to share the album with you all.  The reason for no crafting is just regular day to day family life, the lure of pinterest and the internet (stealthily stealing my time) and the continuous job searching (grrr).  However, something should be happening at my desk very soon (like now!) as baby bug 1 has a children in need disco to attend, where the dress code is wacky, weird, wild and wonderful - "Mammy I want to go as pudsey bear", which then changed to Blush bear, and then after some brainstorming the cat in the hat was suggested.  So, the disco is on Thursday and as I type we have no idea what she will be going as, and there is a parent's evening to attend tonight, so let's just pray for a miracle (fancy dress is not my strong point).

Anway, here's the scrapbook (quite a lot of images).  Any suggestions on how much to charge for such a thing would be greatly appreciated :)

Welcome to another woyww.   I've had a tiny card making session this morning, involving yet more embossing folders, ribbon, embellishments and even dug out the rubber stamps and heat embossing tools, which I haven't used for ages.  I still love watching the heat embossing process!

I haven't decided whether I am happy with the cards behind my keyboard yet, was just playing around with ideas.  I'm still trying to find an easy way to colour embossed images, but haven't managed it yet and colouring each element with pens takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r!  I tried again today using the brayer technique.  I tried 2 ways - inking up the embossing folder (that coloured the background and not the embossed image) and using the brayer over the embossed image (kind of worked, but kept inking over the edges of the embossing and just looked messy).  Any tips readers?

So the result of my efforts is a few more Christmas cards to add to my stash.  I'm still wondering whether to have a stall at the school Christmas craft fair at the start of December but not convinced I will manage to get enough stock made by then.

Thanks for stopping by, remember to go visit Julia and all the other woywwers for a good old nosey!

What's on your workdesk Wednesday, 125

Happy Wednesday!

This week I have just finished (!) the scrapbook commission, so my desk has got pretty much completed scrapbook pages on it, with just a few embellishments to be added.  These are the bath time and one half of the first birthday (double page spread) pages.  I can't remember where the papers etc are from I just raided what was in the cupboard, but the lovely felt whale was a bargain find at the works book shop.  I'm just waiting for my lovely other half to take some nice photos of them for my website etc then I shall send it off.  Hopefully it won't be too long as the poor lass has been waiting ages for it (good job I know her!).

Then I had to make an anniversary card for my brother and his missus.  I was pleased with how it turned out so I decided to make a batch of similar ones to try and build up some stock.

Hope to get round a few more desks again this week (do I say that every week?!)  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to pop over to Julia's place for a good nosey around at everyone elses works in progress.

Less is more, week 38

I've been having a bit play with some card making today as I think it's about time to start building up my stock so I can start trying to sell some stuff.  Then while catching up on blogs I discovered that this week's "less is more" challenge involves polka dots, which by complete co-incidence I had included in my designs today.  I've been thinking about taking part in less is more for a few weeks now as it seems to suit my design style, so that must be fate!  So here is my first submission:

I embossed the card stock with a cuttlebug template and added some white ribbon, I downloaded this gorgeous tag template (from design selective) added some text and printed it onto pearlescent card then added a fabric covered wooden heart embellishment.

What's on your workdesk Wednesday 124

Hello again woyww'ers.  I'm still busy with the scrapbook that I was working on last week.  I've only got one layout to do now, but am waiting for an email back to clarify some stuff otherwise it would have been finished today.  This page is about first food/weaning involving carrots. I've used an old calendar tab to highlight the date and I've made these carrots to put at the side of the page.  I used some slightly patterered papers and drew the various elements on them, sticking each layer ontop of the other one, I'm quite pleased with how they turned out.

I am now struggling with adding an extra page into the book.  It's post bound and I've tried to unscrew it to add an extra page but the screw-heads aren't going anywhere!  I think I'm doing it right as I've tried it with another book and they came off straight away, so maybe I've got a book where you can't add pages, it seems to have all the extra flaps etc though, which makes it look like it would. Hey-ho, I shall take it to my dads tonight and get him to have a look at it (is there anything Dads can't do?)

If you want to see what everyone else is busy creating this week then pop over to Julia's blog.

And for those who just pop by on a Wednesday and have been watching my work on my sisters wedding stationery I finally uploaded pictures yesterday if you want to have a look at my previous post.

Bye for now!

Wedding stationery - the reveal!

Well the wedding is now truly over so I am free to show you the stationery I have been teasing you with over the past few months.  The colour theme was mint and aqua to match the bridesmaids dresses, which were by Kelsey Rose (this is the dress but in the wrong colour!) and the embossed flower (cuttlebug stylised flower) was chosen to reflect the flower on these dresses.

So here we go....

Bridesmaid thank you card

Card and gift box label

Cookie favour tag (front and reverse)

Wedding invitation

Order of service

Table plan

Table centre (and photos below) - tables were named after places special to the brideand groom

The wedding card I made for them
Now I just need to start on the scrapbook I've promised them for their wedding gift....!
