Moving on and growing up

Well, today was baby bug 1's last day at nursery.  I got a photo of her that had been on her peg from when she started there last March - looking at that I realised how much she's grown and changed!  So, onto all things crafty once more.  We were a bit more organised than the other day and managed to make the gifts and cards the day before, however this morning we were still rushing about writing out the cards, scanning in pictures of them and taking photos of her last day for the family album.  Yesterday we wandered around hobbycraft looking for inspiration (that didn't involve making 6 bunches of flowers) and as she was in ladybird class decided that would be our theme.  The result was 6 metal buckets, decorated with ladybirds, a ladybird peg for the teachers to keep all their bits and pieces together and some jelly sweeties.  And of course the cards had to have ladybirds on them.  Bug used her finger to draw the body and finger print spots onto them, and a brush for the grass.  The rest of the card was decorated with foam flower stickers, then the ladybirds were finished off with hand drawn legs and hair (!)  That's quite a lot of work for a 4 year old to do in one sitting - hurrah for the holidays now!

The ladybirds.....

  1. Oh, those ladybirds are adorable!

Lovely to meet you again today :) The craft group is in St Cuthbert's Church Hall in Shotley Bridge, on Tuesdays from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. There aren't many who go at the minute, but it's good to meet up with others and see what they are up to. I'll have to ask next week if they know of any in Stanley.

Hope to catch you again soon!
